i think it's a myth. i used to do some weighlifting and never bulked up. partially depends on your musculature, i think. i'm pretty slender. [ Reply | More ]

A myth for sure. Even with relatively heavy weights, most women don't have the hormonal make up to get bulky. Most women are afraid of this and use weights so light that they don't get much benefit at all. [ Reply | More ]

we did this last year; got here in sept. 07 - plenty of time to do the tours and sign up for testing; this year the test was in january...placements - well they just came out - it will probably change; but if they were already going into K in 09 you would have missed the window (would need to be here in sept. 08) - so best you could do is to move to a good zone where they could start K in sept. and then have them tested for first grade. She invited herself to our house, BTW. So now, she reluctantly got a hotel room for her and YSIL but wants BIL to bum on our couch. I find it such an inconvenience for us. We only have one t.v in living room. We have a downstairs master and I will be ovulating. To which my DH says he can't do it with BIL in the house. 11 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I didn't want to go through all the school craziness either. My husband and I knew we wanted a private Christian school that was very strong academically. We searched on the internet and prayed about our decision. With little searching we found the perfect school. It wasn't a hassle to get in and the kids and teachers are great. No waiting list, no crazy deadlines, just relaxed and normal like getting into preschool should be. They assessed our daughter to see if she was ready for there program and excepted her. We called the school in Feb and went through the process in a couple weeks. She'll start in Sept. We thank God for making this easy. [ Reply | More ]

NEST Parent: we should distinguish here between the PTA and the other fundraising entity. There is another group, which does corporate type fundraising, at NEST. I think that is called "NEST egg." (Don't quote me.) "NEST egg" (if that is the corp arms name) used to do all the fundraising but PTA got its own 501c3 and now does the family centered/oriented part. The PTA this year has not identified how much each family gave. [ Reply | More ]
