Thinking about moving back to NYC, kids will be going into Kindergarten (twins) when we would move back (for Sept 2009). Don't know anything about G&T process, can anyone walk me through the process- simple steps. TIA [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I believe you will have to have a NYC residence by the time you sign up for the testing which was in December this year. [ Reply | More

You had to have them tested in Feb of 08 for fall 08, so you would have to have a residence in dec 08 for fall 09. [ Reply | More

^^^this year applications for testing were due in December, tests were administered in March, results were given early May with applications for those who qualified to rank choices, notifications sent out last week. [ Reply | More

we did this last year; got here in sept. 07 - plenty of time to do the tours and sign up for testing; this year the test was in january...placements - well they just came out - it will probably change; but if they were already going into K in 09 you would have missed the window (would need to be here in sept. 08) - so best you could do is to move to a good zone where they could start K in sept. and then have them tested for first grade.
