[ - ] I'm 10 weeks and my morning sickness has dramatically decreased over the last two days. Is that normal this early? I had a sonogram a few days ago, and everything looked fine, but I'm actually a little worried. 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

try not to worry. it prob. doesn't mean anything. i've known people to have v. little m. sickness and have perfectly healthy babies. i've also known people to miscarry while feeling m/s. you just don't know and you don't want to make yourself crazy. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Just venting (I just have to get this OUT of my system -- TIA for helping me): I know we are fortunate to be placed in NEST, and we are going and we are happy about it. Having said that I can not ignore tiny pain/bitterness in my heart still wishing for A. I know NEST is a great school, but can't stop thinking that A would have been a better match for my dc (don't get me wrong: I'm not saying my dc deserves better -- I'm just wishing & wishing). From this moment on, I'll take a look at this whole school thing with "half full" attitude. Thanks. 9 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

If your kid is "normal," he/she will be fine. All this school nonsense is crazy. People would die for your spot at NEST. Move on [ Reply | More ]

I felt the same way about LL. Then I went to register yesterday and everyone was so nice I felt much better. Just remember this could be your DC's world for the next 13 years. You'll forget about Anderson soon enough. [ Reply | More ]

I registered at LL yesterday and liked it so much better than I did in the fall when I toured it. I actually hated it in the fall, but for some reason ranked it 2nd behind Anderson when it came time to list our choices. I'm so glad I did, as I think it will be great for DD. [ Reply | More ]

FWIW: my son is about to finish K at NEST. It has been a great year and as the administration matures, I have high hopes. I have also met some great people in the parent body. It is a nice mix and our family could not be happier. (Well, the commute could be easier. And we could have a nice puppy. But other than that, we couldn't be happier.) [ Reply | More ]

Thank you! I know my dc will be happy @ NEST. Now it is out of my system, phewwwww, and ready to enjoy what we got. It is so nice to hear good thing about NEST from actual NEST parents. (My worry partly comes from lots of negative post about NEST on UB. ) [ Reply | More ]

Be happy you made your decision. Make your peace with it and never look back. Everything happens for a reason. DC will be fine and you will find your place and comfor zone with the parents. I promise. This holds for ALL schools, ladies. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Are there schools that are so crowded that they don't accept all of the zoned children? Can a school do that? I thought they had to take anyone who lives in the cachement. 10 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Yes. There are some schools that are not taking all DCs in the catchment. The NYTimes reported this about 321 about a month ago. They don't have to take all the DCs in the zone if the Fire Dep't is telling them that there is simply no more room for more bodies. The City has to put the DCs in a seat somewhere, but it doesn't have to be in the zoned school. [ Reply | More ]

Really? So they can just send you to some other school that is nowhere near where you live? Or leave you with children in different schools? [ Reply | More ]

they will keep siblings together and put kids who don't get into the zoned school in the next closest school with a spot. Honestly, depending on exactly where you live, your zoned school may not even be the closest school to your home. [ Reply | More ]

there is a waitlist for K at both Riverdale public schools (24 and 81) right now- they will not accept all zoned children- they will bus them to the nearest school with open seats (which will likely be ps7 in Kingsbridge which is not great) [ Reply | More ]
