I am going to have her come again and do a deep cleaning and I am fine paying $100 for that. However, I also want to have her start coming 2x a month and each cleaning then shouldn't take 7 hours! How much should I pay her going forward? She never gave me an hourly rate the first time. My apt is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom. Thanks. 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I think it is. 99dc with non-pita parents and dc who aced school visit and good school report with early birthday has a good chance. A kid like that not getting into any TT - there are those, but for most kids in that situation, good chance. [ Reply | More ]

If you have a boy, there are 4 TT schools to apply to. Trinity is close to lost cause IMO, so that leaves you with 3. If you don't want your ds to commute to the Bronx at the ripe age of 5, you are left with 2. Also, very few kids ace the school visit, odds are your 99 kid will do fine but not 'ace' it if by acing you mean totally stand out above all the other kids. If ds really showed star quality and stood out, then Collegiate or Dalton would probably take him, but really, only handful of kids do. A bit easier situation for girl as there are more spots but still hard. [ Reply | More ]

Chances are the WL would have turned into an accept if you had pressed the issue and the one rejection could have been a clash of philosophy btw you and the interviewer during process or was a casualty of some of the peculiar rejects of high scorers with great play dates that do occur each year. And fewer than 50 do. Think about it. You are a competitive mom and your dc who you think is a genius scores in the 70s or 80s. Do you tell your friends that dc scored badly? No. or do You apply dc everywhere and then when the rejections come in you claim it was in the high 90s or 99 and blame the system for a shutout. Then you come on UB which is the temp taker for these issues and spread this rumor to support your story. Mothers will do anything to protect the image of their child. I know, I work in admissions! What system is perfect? None. But is this system far more fair than people on tis board with an agenda make it out to be? Yes. Bottom line, not everyone can have a brilliant and high scoring child and believe or not, not everyone does. It is not that difficult to choose from the selection of applicants but it is in the applicants best interest to make it seem like it is a flawed system where brilliants children are rejected everyday. But its not. In my years, and granted it is only five years, but in those years I have seen only a handful of qualified engaging dcs rejected from our tt and the circumstances surrounding those were peculiar. I don't understand it, people should take heart in what I am saying which is truthful and yet there are so many more people on this board with an agenda that they all fight me. It is fairly obvious as to why. [ Reply | More ]

Mine was rejected from some and accepted at others. I know very few dc who had more than two or three accepts. So, some must fall through the cracks. Yes, two or three accepts is standard. What you read on this site is that dcs either get one school only or are shut out. Not the case. There are several dcs each year who get in almost everywhere (not a lot but a decent number) but this idea that dcs are given only one slot and that there is a large SO number is just crazy ladies pushing agendas. They are at the point where a small - medium sized firm wants to take them on to start a new trading business for the. She's trying to split hairs so she won't have to admit she misspoke. where would you see the raw/scaled of 152? Is it the gray bars on graph? It doesn't have numbers attached to them past 99. A friend told me her dd got a 113, and I'm thrilled for her, but can't see anywhere it would be written over a 99. Are the final sheets different when it's over 99? [ Reply | More ]

a 113 isn't what you or your friend think they are. [ Reply | More ]

now I'm really confused. Sitting here w/my dd's and it says sum of scaled: 133 and PR 99,99,99 Maybe my friend read me the SS instead of the PR- I guess I would have failed this test, I can't even figure out the results! [ Reply | More ]

thank you for your help. So the 133 SS that I see on mine was out of 152? That makes sense, although this entire test baffles me completely! Do the TT schools really care about the ERB's anymore? Is the write up more important than the ranking? [ Reply | More ]

august is a low season for them, people don't tend to want indoor waterparks in the summer. We were there in winter, which is high season (water park combined with skiing nearby at Camel). [ Reply | More ]
