The right thing for dc's would be for him to stop fooling around and renew his committment to his marriage and family, to grow up and take responsibility for his actions, honor his vows, etc. It pisses me off when people get all sanctimonious on divorce- to avoid the demise of a relationship there must be two people in the relationship.
