For some reason our public has 1/2 days on Wednesdays. Their rationale for not having it Friday's, it that everyone would have their kid miss the entire day to go to their weekend getaway. Instead people pull their kids out at random times on Friday to go to their Tahoe houses(I'm in ca) and it disrupts the classroom to continually retrieve and pull out children from the class. Private school is better for the small class size. This can't be disputed. Many PS teachers are better, more experienced, creative and better able to reach all kinds of kids. They have to. It seems to me that the smartest kids do well in PS. The (m) average kids really don't get what they need in a class of 28+. Hate to say this, but this was my family. My parents were not divorced, only long term separated. My dad had an income of 35k. My mom left my dad for her wealthy boss when I was small. His wife was institutionalized long term and he never divorced her. But, he was very wealthy and basically treated us like his stepchildren.
