All 3 of my dcs have a small blanket lovey that they cuddle with every night. Youngest is 6mo, oldest is 4yo. Around 5 or 6 mo I just started putting it in their crib with them. The problem is that there should be something between the free preschools and the $23K a year preschools. I live in NJ and my dcs go to a program that costs $300 a month. She was abused by her step-dad and had abandonment issues because of her mom and she was angry, bitter, and just a mess as she approached 30. She went for 2yrs and is so much better for it. Right now I am with a psychiatrist who just nods his head all the time and I don't feel like I am getting much out of it...also we have totally different parenting styles - he is one of those Waldorf parents (absolutely NO TV or participation in pop culture stuff) and I'm definitely not so it makes it difficult to talk about parenting.
