About four years ago my sister found vodka in her closet, sister also picked up glass she thought was water and it was vodka, I checked about six months later and there was some hidden, I have suspected that they "mouth wash" she has in her makeup bag when she visits in vodka, dh thinks he saw her sneak vodka into her water glass on her last visit (I smelled the glass later and really think it smelled like vodka). I don't really know how to do that - I know that sounds wimpy, but I really don't know what it would accomplish. My mother is not so receptive to such things. [ Reply | More ]

My now ex-DH is an alcoholic. I went to al-anon, and frankly I found it depressing, but it helped in the sense that I knew I could and should leave and in the end I just had to leave because he wasn't getting with the program. It might be different for you, seeing as it's your mom with the problem. You can't very well leave your mom [ Reply | More ]

Seeing as a normal diet is 2000 calories, cutting it to 1300 seems to be enough to lose weight. It won't happen in a week. Give it time. You need enough calories to sustain your body and prevent it from going into "starvation mode" which would screw up your metabolism and make losing weight impossible [ Reply | More ]
