My divorce is final June 9th..problem is last week at Pap they found a lump in my right boob, and 3 on my ovaries. Went this weekend for ultrasound on ovaries, and called today to say I need them biopsied ASAP, and that my Pap is abnormal and need my cervix biopsied. What should I do about health insurance? I obviously wont be on his anymore...do I just get my own? Will it be a pita now that I have all these issues? Thanks [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I was planning on just getting my own thru private. Our kids will still be on his. Just wondering if I will have a hard time. [ Reply | More ]

You definitely cannot afford a gap in coverage. Call Oxford or another company and get a single plan right away. (And good luck, keep the faith that it's all just a false alarm) [ Reply | More ]

You don't need to tell them a thing if you are purchasing an HMO or PPO plan. (I am assuming you are in NY state.) As long as you don't have a gap in coverage, they cannot deny you coverage for a pre-existing condition. [ Reply | More ]

Talk to your OB. Mine suggested that I do some testing anonymously since he has concerns/issues with Pre-Existing stuff. Your doctor may be able to direrct you... [ Reply | More ]

under the circumstances, can you remain on your ex's health insurance for the duration of your diagnosis and treatment? [ Reply | More ]

Pay for Cobra and do what you need to do. In the meantime research individual policies. Good luck. [ Reply | More ]
