[ - ] If you're an SAHM and went to Ivy undergrad and/or have a JD, MD, or MBA, do you ever feel like you're "missing out" or regret that you might not be as successful in your career as your former classmates? Do you ever feel jealous or "inferior" compared to women with high-powered careers? 9 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

no, i don't feel like I'm missing out, but i also am ok with knowing that when i go back into the work force it will probably be in a different capacity than before. I love hanging out with dd and would rather be no where else. I feel lucky that I have the opportunity to stay home, so I guess I'm not that focused on what i'm missing out on [ Reply | More ]

none of that will prevent you catching the virus. if you get cold sores yourself, you already have it and kissing him when he has one won't increase chances of an outbreak. if you don't already have it, you've exposed yourself but may or may not result in an outbreak. [ Reply | More ]

you're more likely to catch it when your immune system is down. also children more susceptible than adults. so dh should not kiss dc's when he has one or feels one coming on. but honestly, most people have the virus so it's not really that bad.... [ Reply | More ]

there's nothing wrong with wanting to have an experience and bond with each of the genders. like i said, it is totally normal. my MIL had four boys and felt the same way and now she has 4 DILs and she treats us all like her DDs and loves it -- takes us shopping, gossips, bakes, with us. And she has way more granddaughters than grandsons to spoil. Maybe it's just not your time yet -- maybe there might be a little delay for you, too, like it was for MIL... [ Reply | More ]
