Any helpful advice on how to nicely tell my grandmother (great grandmother) that she can't hold my son because he hates it. She keeps on letting his head drop and really shouldn't be holding something so heavy anyway. I'm working on positive feedback but it breaks my heart. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

can you give her the baby when someone else is sitting next to her, someone else to help her hold the baby properly? i don't think you can actually say that to her without breaking HER heart. [ Reply | More ]

OP, and ITA. There are some good suggestions here, though. Too much of a new, fretful mom to think of them. [ Reply | More ]

i was a fretful new mom once upon a time, too. just stay close -- believe it or not, babies are sturdier than you think. maybe sure g-ma is sitting down and in a carpeted area and you should be fine... [ Reply | More ]

Sorry, I wouldn't ever say that unless his life were in immediate danger. [ Reply | More ]

you prop her arms up w/ pillows to make sure she can get a comfortable position. don't tell her she can't hold the db, sit right next to her and be ready to help if need be. [ Reply | More ]
