DH drives me nuts sometimes -- brings me to look at a house we have no intention of buying because he's curious. Don't torture me and give me hope for moving and then say, we can afford it, but the taxes are too high. Grrrrrrrr... [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Why is he right? If the schools are excellent and the area is run properly and you have an income that justifies it why not live in a safe, secure and stable town where you don't have to worry about property vales? [ Reply | More

Not always but often the quality of life in a town is predicated on the tax rate. High taxes = better schools = better property values as a rule of thumb. [ Reply | More
