[ - ] i'm a mess. weaning myself off of zoloft, my I have reservations about putting our dd in daycare and today when I walked in she saw me and ran to me crying and holding on for dear life. Tonight she hit the side of her eye on the table and now she has a cut there. She's also been a bit whiny today and wants to nurse all the time. Plus I had my review at work and my boss said I'm doing a good job but I need to step it up. I know this post is all over the place but this is how I'm feeling. 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

we've been there. it is hard to leave a child at daycare. it will get better. if you love the daycare and feel good about the program, just help her transition as best you can (which may be a quick good bye and leaving). it isnt easy for anyone, just keep that in mind. it will be OK though. as for work, do what you can do...step it up if that helps you get to where you need to be. In public school in NYC (this includes G&T) you enter the calendar year you turn 5 for K. For private school the cut off is Sept. 1 officially, but really it is more like June 30. Private school summer kid are the oldest, as a general rule [ Reply | More ]

A few private schools have cutoff dates later than Sept. 1 (e.g. Manhattan Country School and St. Ann's). For G&T, your child would start K in the year he turns 5. Public school cutoff in NYC is Dec. 31. [ Reply | More ]

I couldn't get more than 2 ounces out of me until someone told me to latch my baby on one side and pump the other at the same time. Remember that what you are trying to do is get the letdown--otherwise you just get little drips. Having the baby get the letdown out of one breast inspired the other one for me, and I had no trouble getting six to eight ounces every time (only when my son was attached to the other breast though). I'd pump before I went to work, when I got home, and before bed, and freeze bottles each time. Because I got going before I had to go back to work, and pumped twice a day on weekends too, I managed to have enough milk. I apologize if you know all of this already, but this trick saved me. 10 weeks. In retrospect, I had stopped peeing in the middle of the night a couple days before--I never had a lot of pregnancy symptoms anyway. (And also didn't in the pregnancy that went to term.) funny you say that. I have infant (4 mo) twins too. but this is for our just 2 yr old. we have the valco twin w the toddler seat for regular use which is great, but huge. We are going to my brothers wedding this weekend and were trying to figure out how to haul a car seat and a stroller and what to do with it all. this was a great solution for us. but it has happened before and will happen again that he goes somewhere and not the twins. then thinking the rest of my family can use. (SIL is due in august and married to someone who lives in another country, etc). i hated renting a car seat---we did this once and it was bagged and tagged as clean and there was long black hair all over it. it grossed me out. this is way better for me. I hated mine. Gave it away. It was a huge PITA because whenever we got where we were going still needed it as a car seat and a stroller for sightseeing. oh the latch would make it much better. Prior to the latch, you had to lift your kid into the car while he was IN the car seat, then try to strap the carseat in with him sitting in it. It was impossible and we finally stopped using it because we didn't feel it was safe (which I explained to the person I gave it to as well but she really wanted it) [ Reply | More ]
