this is not to discourage you, but to empathize...whatever you do will come out fine. with my ds, i was determined to bf. i had an lc come to my house, then went to lc at the hospital for 12 weeks. ds was a lousy bf'er even with all that help (tongue tie, although we had it cut) SOOOO preferred bottle. i did SNS, i took fenugreek, blessed thistle and reglan, none really helped. pumped 12x/day for 3 weeks. my supply was never more than 2oz total. I got mastitis 2x too. [ Reply | More ]

sorry, didnt mean to hit enter. I am really goal oriented at work and thought I could conquer this too, but in the end, HAD to go to formula. did sim organic. and DS was totally fine. the only bad thing was that i didnt enjoy my maternity leave and time off with him to the fullest. whatever you do will be fine. really. I couldn't get more than 2 ounces out of me until someone told me to latch my baby on one side and pump the other at the same time. Remember that what you are trying to do is get the letdown--otherwise you just get little drips. Having the baby get the letdown out of one breast inspired the other one for me, and I had no trouble getting six to eight ounces every time (only when my son was attached to the other breast though). I'd pump before I went to work, when I got home, and before bed, and freeze bottles each time. Because I got going before I had to go back to work, and pumped twice a day on weekends too, I managed to have enough milk. I apologize if you know all of this already, but this trick saved me.
