When my dd says I "never let (her) make any decisions" I simply point out how many decisions she, herself, made that very day. Usually nips it in the bud. [ Reply | More

NP: I realized it when DD started battling with me over her clothes when she was about 2. It got a lot easier when I gave her 2 or 3 choices to pick from. She's now 4 and generally picks all her own clothes, decides what vege will go with dinner most nights (based on what's already in the frigde), etc. [ Reply | More
