[ - ] My 6 mo ds does not roll over. He can sit unattended, reach, lean all the way forward and sit back up. But he simply will not roll over. (Actually, he rolled over twice at 8 wks, but then never again.) All the books say he should be doing this. (he's hit all the other milestones for babbling, laughing, etc,). Anyone btdt? I know every kid is different (my db #1 did everything very early, but now all the other kids have caught up), but the books indicate this could be a cause of some concern. Any one else not roll over till after 6.5 mos? Did it matter? Not sure what I could do about it anyway. Other than worry -- which I'm obviously doing or I wouldn't be here writing this. 9 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Really? That makes me feel better. Were they slow to crawl too? My instinct is that he's fine. He's actually quite strong, but that's why it seems weird too. It's not as if he doesn't have the neck strength, etc, to pull it off. [ Reply | More ]

My now 9mo is trying really hard to crawl but just goes backwards (I am not worried in the slightest about him). My #1 crawled at 9mo and walked at 12.5m. My #2 ds just used to lie with his face flat onto the floor during tummy time and couldn't really lift his head much at all at 6mo - he can now. If your gut feeling is that your dc is fine then they probably are. GL [ Reply | More ]

13 weeks is still pretty young. Mine did fine going down awake at bedtime but not naps at that age. I found Weissbluth's sleep book extremely helpful, but not the Baby Whisperer. Ultimately you have to do what's right for you and your baby rather than to try to push your baby into an external concept you have. If you stay mindful of the goal of putting down awake, you can eventually get there with her. [ Reply | More ]

my bf has had 3. they will give you an epidural during the procedure, she said she just felt crampy for a few days. They monitor you closely towards the end of your pregnancy and you will be instructed to go straight to L&D if you have any contractions so it can be taken out. I think normally it is removed around 36-37 weeks to avoid that scenario. [ Reply | More ]

Being a parent does not give you reason to trick and deceive your child without having a reason - only to satisfy your own curosity. If you are in a position to pay for private schools then do. I do not recommend the State schools in London. I haven't had school age kids in London so I'm no expert on this. There are classes etc but not on the same scale as here. [ Reply | More ]

op - there's a pool. out of a department of 20, only 1 other person is brining their kids. i think we will stick out like sore thumbs, and i don't really want my boss/co-workers seeing me as the mom chasing the 1yo in a diaper. [ Reply | More ]

the big deal is, if I understand correctly, that the child-free partner is reaching out to the people w/ kids by including them and she doesn't want to seem ungrateful. I think it's a good idea not to bring them as you are prob right that people will see you as "mom" after seeing you with them. people at my firm started calling me mom when I got pg -ick [ Reply | More ]
