Above makes sense but I was voted to be devil's advocate for today so I'm gonna chime in: in pre-war though you have to figure there is a regular exterminator contracted. You can't keep bugs from ever coming in so in pre-war, they are less likely to colonize and become an issue. [ Reply | More ]

I agree with you. I think those people who claim to not break the rules just have enough money to pay their way around it. They don't double park because they are ready to spend $10 on parking, etc. REAL New Yawkers know how it's done. I know one very wealthy family when told that the local fire house would not allow a tour for their sons birthday, even though they were willing to pay huge for it, called up the fire commissioners grand daughters and got strings pulled. That is breaking the rules. But it happens all the time. [ Reply | More ]

I have had the same parttime nanny for 5 years. I think the relationship works really well because I have always treated her like a fulltime nanny, but prorated. So if I have engaged her for the same two days each week, I pay her whenever I cancel, go away, etc. on those days, plus I pay her for federal holidays that fall on those days. I think this is only right. It's not her fault that you're going away. [ Reply | More ]

I would pay her for the three weeks and if you want to nickel and dime her back ask that 24 hours of the time being paid for be used for any "extra overtime" so if one week she works 25 hours you don't need to pay her an extra 15. [ Reply | More ]
