Agree with post below that it's not stimulating enough beyond toddler. There are a lot of empty promises about activities & resources. And, my son's friend was left behind in the playground by his teachers on Friday afternoon. While the school fired the teachers, the director was telling the parents yesterday that they noticed the child was missing after 5-10 minutes. But on Friday evening, the parents heard from othger teachers that when the boy was returned to his class they were eating/had eaten their snack & they didn't know he was missing! The director is totally pulling a CYA either with or without the owner's knowledge. [ Reply | More ]

Why do schools bother with it? The kids don't nap and would rather be playing. It seems like the only purpose it serves is to give teachers a break and get some kids in trouble (eg my kid). 11 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

If your friend has one of those peds, I would tell her to contact EI. Sadly, EI is actually way more knowledgeable about developmental issues than the average ped. You are a good friend to do this! itta. I don't feel that either way makes anyone a better mom. I know moms who work because they have to but other moms who work because they want to. I know sahm (like myself) who feel lucky to be able to stay at home and do lots with the kids (classes, playdates, ect). I know sahm who do nothing all day with the kids. It all depends on the individual and is their decision.
