how long did you keep working before delivering? i just turned 39 weeks and am dragging so hard. but...my job is not stressful. maybe time would go even slower if i were lazing around at home....thoughts? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I gave up work 4wks before baby was due then he arrived 2wks early. I used those two weeks to do the baby shopping. [ Reply | More ]

my company gives 3wks off before the due date. Which is awesome, although the time at the end does drag like you wouldn't believe [ Reply | More ]

I am so glad that I am self-employed. I am taking off a month before due date, and not going back to work for at least 9 months. [ Reply | More ]

YES! time will move more slowly if you're sitting around at home. i taught school and the year ended about 5 wks before i delivered #1. i've never watched more tv or felt more slovenly in my life. i was addicted to TRL and in love with Carson Daly at the age of 30 - so sad. not even sure that show still exists. BUT if you have friends who will hang out with you or a pool you could lounge in, it wouldn't hurt to have a week of free time before motherhood begins. [ Reply | More ]

my job is not super-stressful either, but by 39 weeks i needed to work at home. i did that for a week and then took off after my due date. i was due 4 days ago and no baby yet -- and definitely the time is dragging. but i'd rather be home where i can rest than hauling my ass to the office every day! my thoughts exactly. I didn't work for my first and was climbing the walls. With the others I have stayed at work and the time went by quickly. [ Reply | More ]

I worked at home during the last week before I gave birth. It was so helpful not to commute to work. [ Reply | More ]
