I went to one at the cinema somewhere around 86th & 3rd. It was a Wed morning. Wasn't advertised as for Moms and kids but they had a changing table at the back of the cinema. [ Reply | More ]

np Well as you know the market in Miami is just bad. Think about what is costs for you to carry the house another year, and lower the price by that much. It will hurt but just get it over with. And even that might not do it. [ Reply | More ]

as far as staging, if the house is completely empty that's not good. Put some basic furniture back in there-- inflatable beds with comforters in each bedroom, a sofa/chair/coffee table in the living room etc-- the bare bones is fine if you have moved on. Dining table with chairs. If there is a deck/patio put a cafe set out there if nothing else. Investigate furniture rentals. What does your realtor say? [ Reply | More ]

We staged our home in NJ and it sold in two weeks. Be prepared--it is a pain in the ass to go through. I thought they would come in and move furniture around or rehang some of my pictures or whatever, but they upended my entire house. Plus they cleared out so much stuff that my previously empty garage got filled with all my furniture. Overall, I would say the house looked good for showing, but was impossible to live in. For instance, they deemed too "clutter-y" my kitchen knives, the toaster and coffee maker and my coffee tables in front of my sofas. They also wanted to repaint any room that had any color--wanted only neutrals. Definitely don't plan on living in the house comfortably after it has been staged. [ Reply | More ]

We're in the process of selling, and we've staged the place ourselves. We've gotten a lot of interest, and ended up with several offers, so I'd say making it look good is a huge plus. We've always kept the clutter to a minimum, but living clutter-free versus living in a place that's worth showing is exhausting. We remove next to all clutter from the kitchen counters, etc. [ Reply | More ]

If you have a group of People you meet regularly through your kids or whatever why not trying asking if anyone fancies seeing a movie or trying out a bar/coffee shop because you feel like getting out more. The worse they can do is say no. Once you have done it once it gets so much easier. GL [ Reply | More ]

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Do not go looking for friends based on the fact that they gave birth at the same time as you. That is how so many women end up with frenemies. Just go and do things you enjoy and you may (or may not) meet someone you have something in common with. Common ground is better than procreation when looking for friends. [ Reply | More ]
