[ - ] Is this normal? What did you do? 2.5 yo former great sleeper for 2 months now has been screaming and crying at bedtime and for naps. We do CIO and it's always worked, but this go round is just never ending. I'm talking screaming that goes on an average of 45 minutes. She's tired, way tired, and is now waking in middle of night which she has never done. 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Maybe time to ditch the nap? Or, maybe a later bedtime? My dd is 2.9yo now and is a mess without her nap, but then needs to go to bed pretty late - 9ish - otherwise she can't fall asleep. [ Reply | More ]

I can't get 2.5 yo to nap very often anymore even though she needs it badly! She will scream in the crib for as long as it takes ot get us to take her out. We have been planning ot run errands, etc and be in the car at nap time so that she falls asleep int he car and then in the stroller. It's the only thing that works. Fortunately for us she is fine at bedtime but there was a time that she fought us at bedtime. It passed after a few weeks. [ Reply | More ]

I have a 4 month old, we never did the waking thing cause we ourselves do not stay up til 11. My dd woke at 2/3ish and then up at 5ish. I am happy to report that she dropped her 2/3ish feeding on her own and sleeps through now. Things changed quickly for her in the last few weeks so for me I would not do the waking thing. Sounds like your dc is on the way to a good schedule going to bed at 8 and then will eventually sleep til 6. Good luck, it WILL happen, I never thought it would!! Plus you are going to see so many fun changes in your db over the next few weeks-lots more giggles and smiles ! [ Reply | More ]

Well, I am working from home today and her cell phone keeps BLASTING and she is speaking loudly on the phone while db naps. Appropriate for me to tell her to keep it down? I actually think that she's doing a great thing for the dog. A dog that size should have more than 3 walks a day. A 900sf apt is not an appropriate place for a dog that needs to run around. [ Reply | More ]

city dogs get better play time and socialization with other dogs in dog runs than suburban dogs do in backyards. so it's apples and oranges. continuous access to grass is nice, but dogs at the dog runs are VERY happy to explore their pack dynamics and roughhouse like dogs are meant to.
