We are for floors/walls. Master bath will be slate floor (wavering on similar look for shower walls, or a mosaic mix of glass/stone. Hall (kid) bath will be cream crackle subway tile with a creamy tan floor (not sure of exact material, I think the look of travertine...unless I'm confusing my stones.) [ - ] I am crying so badly right now. I have a horrible problem yelling at my dh for stupid things. I never degrde him, but yell for stupid reasons. I have tried so hard to control it. yesterday my dd who is 4 said ",mommy, you yell almost every day". I felt like jumping off a bridge. My father was verbally abusive and this statement from my dd killed me. I don't yell at her, but it doesn't matter. She hears me and that is bad enough. However, I would start to do something about the quality of your life (literally.. part of dealing with this for the health of your family is allowing your dd to see that people can be imperfect and really work hard to change their behaviors and choices. Whatever damage you fear may have been done by your yelling until now can be outweighed by the positive effect of seeing you really work to turn this around and heal the family dynamic (past and present). I agree with above that it is never to late to change that. I grew up in a "loud" household and my parents yelled plenty. I did not love it, but I understood that sometimes grown ups raise their voices. I avoid exposing dd to yelling as much as possible so that she can learn that there are better ways to have conversations. [ - ] How do you know if you found a good therapist? I went to someone last week and although she was nice I didn't like her calling me 'honey, sweetie' when she didn't even know me. She also was really really overweight and had lots of physical ailments that were kind of distracting. Sounds so mean to say it...but it didn't feel like i thought therapy should feel like. She was a social worker who also worked as a therapist that I found through my insurance. Is it better to go with a doctor? [ - ] i am so furious. dh simply will not get life insurance. every time i ask him to get it, he gets all defensive, shuts down etc. we have 2 young dc. he is the primary breadwinner. if he dies, the dc and i are screwed, and if we both die, our dc are screwed and so is my sister (dc's guardian). i have $1.5mm in life insurance and have had it for 4 years (since our first child was born). our hhi is $400k so dh should have $2.5MM. wwyd? i guess i am just going to have to suck it up and deal with the fallout of making him do this, but i am just sooooo angry about it! 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More
