Weirdest was when my mother was paralyzed and dying of cancer and they had to move her by ambulance from Hosp in Boston to NYC. I went in the back of the ambulance with her and the ahole ambulance/paramedic guy kept trying to hit on me while we were all crammed in their and i was totally upset and shaken up. all schools overaccept expecting a certain percentage to decline. what happened this year with dalton is that more kids than expected accepted the offer so the k class is larger than expected. therefore, if someone drops out it is unlikely to go to the wl because they already have more than expected coming in sept. I think I may have been one of the posters who mentioned this. When I heard this, I assumed that they had about +7 based on slightly misjudging how many people would accept their offer. Personally, I would not be surprised if at least 1 or 2 parents who were accepted to Dalton (with or without FA) withdrew if they got their G&T first or second choice. [ Reply | More

[ - ] I am looking for a short childbirth prep class. DH and I have been reading many books on the topic and preparing a lot on our own, therefor a one-day or a private class with an RN would be ideal for us. Realbirth classes are not for us since they run for four sessions, as do Diana Sinkin's at 92nd street Y. I am planning on having an epidural, so a nurse would be the most helpful rather than a Doula. I've contacted Carolyn Migliore who was recommended on this site, as well as Mary Leonard. Hi, thanks for replying! Yes RB has a condensed Sat/Sun option running for 6 hours each day. Even that is overkill for us. We already know the basics of labor and delivery, the terms, the things that can go wrong, the "interventions used", the questions to ask. For us, the basic classes offered would not be too useful.
