i took loestrin years ago (do not think it was 24 FE though). periods were very short and painless (normally very crampy) but it hurt a little to have sex and i ultimately developed an ovarian cyst which one ob suggested was from the low estrogen levels in the loestrin. dunno for sure though. yes, I actually am fully recovered from panic attacks, so I know of what I speak. I do believe it is not serving herself (or her db) to take addictive drugs right now - maybe her OB would okay 1 or 2 pills, but that should be it. There is short term CBT that could help her, it doesn't take a long time. Another poster gave great concrete tips to help that don't require meds either. Longer term therapy will most likely be needed, but if she's motivated she can cure this. [ Reply | More

listen. I'm not a dr and don't pretend to be like some ppl here. You've been in therapy and obviously not helping. I don't take meds so I'm not trying to push them either. i had dh do most of the shopping/errands. i would only go to the store if i knew exactly what i needed. (e.g. what item, what brand, what price, etc.). i had a good routine for the day, even allowing for dc's erratic schedule. i would go for a walk and know where i was going to go. no random "help, i don't know what to do" moments if i could avoid them. i made a cleaning schedule and a menu so that i didn't have to panic. i just had to check my list. it was slow but i steadily grew out of my panic attacks. all the guilt is part of your ppd. You need to go to the dr tell them what's going on and let them help you. They should tell you what you need to do - ie how to decrease bf, get onto your meds and dietary moderation if necessary. Do you have help at home w/ db- I mean family support? [ Reply | More
