Hi, need some advice, pls:just found out I'm 5+weeks pg. Made appt with obgyn for June 2nd. Would it be crazy for me to try and see my gp before June 2nd to get blood work done? Worried about progesterone levels - can a gp/internist help? Tia [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

your ob should be able to do that for you, even if you just see a NP or PA for a quick appointment [ Reply | More

op:what are NP and PA? Know that ob will do her own bloodwork and prescribe supplements if necessary but wondered if gp would be able to help in the meantime? If levels are low, would a gp prescribe supplements or wait for ob? Tia [ Reply | More

np: tell her to fax in a script to a lab near you so that you can go to lab and have blood drawn, tell her to request STAT so you have results asap. that is what my ob did. i went to quest and did it. [ Reply | More
