It is sad, in a way, because you were raised a certain way, and maybe you believed others were as well to repect elders and those who were in need of something, ie your seat on the train, bus, etc. because of children, pg, etc, and it is shocking to me that so many people are rude. [ Reply | More ]

Take a breath--totally normal, even for kids who weren't previously agressive to go through an agressive phase. Find a method of discipline and stick with it consistently--don't talk to much or explain too much. Just "if you do X, Y is going to happen" and then follow through EVERY SINGLE time. If it means leaving where you are, so be it. Three sucks btw. [ Reply | More ]

I travel with 10mo ds inc overseas and I am very careful about recreating his routine when traveling, even more so than at home. Of course you push it sometimes for the sake of the vacation but I bring the drapes and the sound machine everywhere and he sleeps great. I think it sucks to rag on this woman for trying to make sure her kid sleeps. If he's anything like mine, everyone suffers if he doesn't get his nap in his crib. I think she is doing the right thing for her kid. What about the moms who drag their dbs all over kingdom come without any concern for their sleep needs? I think they are far far worse. Just my 2 cents. I wouldn't stay with a friend who didn't understand how I mother. [ Reply | More ]
