I know this is a phase. I'm trying time outs but when we're out and about I cant do it. I say "no hit!" but nothing seems to be working. I look like an accident victim, I seriously have bruises. Can anyone offer some advice please? 3 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I am sure he has a lot on his mind, but when he gets like this i feel very isolated and i take it personally. am i over-reacting? 40 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I'm a SAHM, and I take my children with me on errands. Gonna report me to child welfare? Shopping all day while ignoring a bored toddler trapped in a stroller is wrong, but a few errands won't kill anybody. And it will teach your children they are not always the center of the universe. Try asking your nanny what her plans for the day are and then at the end of the day how those plans went. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Birthing Center at Bellevue hospital ? Anyone know much about this? I have called the hospital and a Midwife said she would call me back, but no word yet. I delivered at Bellevue's Birth Center in Aug. 2007...the midwives are fantastic...rooms are large with jacuzzis. They definitely accept Medicaid, PCAP. Its difficult to get anyone there on the phone...instead go to Bellevue's Women's Health unit, 4th floor, 4C and ask to speak to a midwife, or ask when they are scheduling tours of the Birthing Center. Alternately, you could just go up to the 9th floor, if you go left off the elevator you are headed toward L&D, if you go right you are headed toward Birth Center. See if anyone if there and if you could have a look around. The downside of Bellevue's BC is that currently they have a nursing shortage and so the BC is not always open. If you went into labor and it wasn't open, you'd deliver in L&D with a midwife and birth center protocols. Alternately, you could also consider homebirth...as I know there are some midwives that take medicaid. [ Reply | More ]
