[ - ] My next door neighbor has two large plants on the fire escape, this doesn't bother me but yesterday she scared me to death. varies..when we started dating about 8:30 to 10...now he's a junior vp and it's about 8 to between 7:30 and 9. He sometimes does weekend work but not all of the time. He does look at the Blackberry during the course of the weekend but he's not too attached to it. [ Reply | More ]

OP: I guess this is an individual variation thing. My DS will only take 6-7oz milk at each sitting, 3 x/day plus 3 oz at bedtime. Eats 3 small meals, but he is not a big guy. Thanks for the point about filling up on food vs. milk. I guess I will leave well enough alone for now! [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Tell me we're doing the right thing. Just moved to new house, in a lake community. Have the opportunity to buy a boat and slip, at a big discount. It wouldn't tap us out, but it would delay buying some new furniture and leave us with less of a buffer. We were going to do it, but now are thinking it would be smarter to wait a year or two, even if we end up paying more money then. It's absolutely what we want for the future. But since it's a 19ft/no cabin limit for the lake, I think the little one (3) is just too young. The slip is coming with a power boat - we're hoping to sell it in a few years and get a sailboat instead. [ Reply | More ]

Boat. Here's the problem: boat slips can be impossible to find when you want them. Do it now! Everyone is assuming boat is power... I grew up sailing and while it was not as "cool" in high school -- as an adult I can see, it was a much more fun/family friendly hobby. [ Reply | More ]

The boat is a power boat. We are hoping by the time the kids are older we can trade up to sailboat (they are simply too young for a small sailboat - 19ft limit on the lake). But I really think the whole experience will be great for the kids, glad it was for you too. [ Reply | More ]

by the way, since this sounds like your first time, the first results don't tell you much, it is comparing it to the results of the second test two days early that means something. My first pregnancy was ectopic, and they thought it was fine because the first numbers came back decently high, my second pregnancy was fine, but they thought it was going to be ectopic because they came back so low. [ - ] Need neighborhood recommendations. We have lived on the UWS for one year, and we're planning to stay in the area for one more year before moving back to the west coast. We'd like to save some money, so we're considering New Jersey, but I still want to have lots of amenities and recreational options for 24-mo-old ds. Any recommendations for cool neighborhoods/areas (Hoboken, for example?)? Doesn't necessarily have to be NJ, but I am looking for a place where we'll still be able to have interesting outings and meaningful experiences but perhaps while saving some $$. Get the old image of harlem out of your heads. Harlem is really making strides as a great family friendly communnity. $2 mil playground renovation at Moriningside Park is close to completion and is looking really cute i might add plus there are a lot of kid friendly activity spaces/clases opening up (Music together and little gym just to name a few. But if moving w/in 1 year I say it prob wiser to stay put not worth the cost financially and otherwise to pack up and move only to do it again in a year. [ Reply | More ]
