i had an hcg blood test yesterday at noon. when can i expect the results? it was at a quest btw. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

by the way, since this sounds like your first time, the first results don't tell you much, it is comparing it to the results of the second test two days early that means something. My first pregnancy was ectopic, and they thought it was fine because the first numbers came back decently high, my second pregnancy was fine, but they thought it was going to be ectopic because they came back so low. i know what you mean, thanks. they suspect a blighted ovum or it may be early. i am just curious. i am going back tomorrow am for the compare ones. [ Reply | More ]

they're probably not going to be able to tell you much today most likely (unless your numbers are incredibly low), because if you're early the numbers will be down, and if blighted ovum the numbers are going to be down... [ Reply | More ]

why did they order a hcg? Is that typical? (I went through IVF so that was def. normal but I know my SIL never got hcg's and she has two dc.) [ Reply | More ]

NP: My second pg was a fluke after IVF for #1--OB took my HCG levels too, but not as often as RE had. [ Reply | More ]

Ahhhh! Me too! I had IVF for #1 and then two flukey natural pg after that. Both were m/c but with my hx my OB was doing hcg tests from the get-go just to monitor me. Not fun to watch my levels go from good to bad but it's my lot in life. [ Reply | More ]
