I think that you are ignoring the situation at the time it was written. Militia's formed quickly to deal with local issues, the people needed to have guns so that they could respond. Congress was afraid of a dictator taking away a persecuted group of people's guns. Whether this applies in our life today is debatable, but that was their intent. There's no "town" feel to it. The closet town like that would be Engelwood where you can walk around, etc. Convenient for food shopping - Whole Foods, Trader Joes, huge Pathmark.
