Help! I feel like I spend most of the day either giving almost 10 mo DS milk or solids (spaced 1 hour apart)! At what age do most babies have enough capacity to take solids and milk (bottle) at same feeding? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I rarely give even my 2 yo milk with his meals b/c I'd rather he eat the food than drink the milk. I never really got in the habit of giving them both together. [ Reply | More ]

whats your total schedule like? my 8 mo ds has an 8 oz bottle first thing, then has solids plus a 3 oz bottle for next 3 meals, and then 8-9 oz for last feed [ Reply | More ]

you can make bottles bigger and give less frequently -- like 1 at wake up, 2nd in afternoon and 3rd at bedtime. [ Reply | More ]

OP: I guess this is an individual variation thing. My DS will only take 6-7oz milk at each sitting, 3 x/day plus 3 oz at bedtime. Eats 3 small meals, but he is not a big guy. Thanks for the point about filling up on food vs. milk. I guess I will leave well enough alone for now! [ Reply | More ]

isnt it more important that they get their breastmilk or formula up until 12 mos than food? I mean, I know food is important too, but I was always led to think until a year, it was second to bm/formula [ Reply | More ]
