I think it's just a few posters who simply cannot seem to "move on" because the process ended up catching them by surprise. ITA that this place has become dominated by those posters, who have created a very negative, sniping atmosphere. The private school moms will be back with a vengeance in the fall. It's always been cyclical on NY Schools, according to the admissions calendar. PITA parents are the ones (at least in public school) that keep to create fuss. Always try to grab the teacher at pick up and monopolize them to discuss one thing or another. Come to PTA meetings to complain about one thing or another, yet never offer to volunteer to make things better. Public PITA parents are not PITAs because they don't fit with the popular crowd. Mine are 2 & 6. I occasionally use the jogger for the youngest if we go on a longer trek. But she is starting to use her scooter instead, so it looks like we are almost done. Never use the Joovy or the umbrella-type stroller anymore at all--haven't for about 6 months. [ Reply | More ]

Not to cause undue alarm, but Are you seeing any other issues? I would take DS to a developmental pediatrician (there are good ones in NY listed here) or call EI for an evaluation just to make sure. Regular pediatricans (including my DS's) regularly miss things. [ Reply | More ]

I got stretch marks as a kid with growth spurts so worried about it when preg with 1st baby. I didn't get any! I don't know if it helped, but I used shea butter and am using it again as preg with 2nd now. I recommend one with a lavender scent and whole foods has good options. [ Reply | More ]

It's genetic, but I just used the cheap cocoa butter cream from the drugstaore and I'm mark-free. It smells good and it's not breaking the bank for something I believe you will get anyway if you're "made that way". [ Reply | More ]

hang in there. 2mo is not a long time for TTC, even though it seems like an eternity for you. [ Reply | More ]

I'm no doctor, but I do know our bodies change as we age (even if we don't consider ourselves "old"). I think 6mo is the recommended timeframe for TTC because that is common for many women - some it takes less time, others much longer. keep trying, chart your cycle, use ovulation tests - it can be hard work, especially when you're used to getting pregnant easily. hmm, you sort of sound whiney. You've been trying for 2 months, you have 2 kids...try to be a bit mature about this. [ Reply | More ]

Yes, send a report to all schools and to your current pre-K. Also, get a parent copy. [ Reply | More ]

np We ended up sending reports to two schools to which we ultimately chose not to apply (because score was very high, mainly). No big deal. Paid them an extra $20 or so and provided list with test request. Saved time when Sept rolled around (dc tested in summer). [ Reply | More ]
