Well, obliviously it depends on the situation. If it is a birth problem that was disclosed, then it is nearly impossible to give back dc. If it was in this country from social services, then you need to contact them first. If it was recent from another country, you need to contact agency, but if it was a long time ago, then social services is the place to start. I've heard of a ton of different situations, but with so little info, there's no way to know where to start. [ Reply | More ]

I have not read all the other responses yet, but it is called adoption disruption. UB is not the right place to ask about that, you need to find adoptive family forums (for example, there is an attachment disorder network, other places, blogs). So not happening, DOE can't afford such outcry considering how many kids made the cutoff and did not get citywide (or in some cases any) placement. They should spend the time with heavy tutoring instead and try again for first grade. [ Reply | More ]

there is abook that I bought before I had DS and was doing a bris/ needed to choose a hebrew name for him and my dd. It gives, among other things, a list of hebrew names and their meaning. Unfortunately I can't think of the name of the book, but go buy a book like that, put the list infront of DH and ask him which ones he likes. Take the discussion from there. If he's not interested in even doing this much work, then he doesn't deserve to be able to nix your ideas. [ Reply | More ]
