[ - ] 7.5 month old has been waking at 4am for about a week or two, sometimes he goes back to sleep until 5am sometimes not. I have decided not to get him until 6am which is a reaonable time for him to be picked up and to start the day. Does anyone think he will start to understand this and sleep later? 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

not specifically for dc, but I like Everyday Food. It's a Martha Stewart magazine, monthly, but you can also buy their cookbook (possibly it's called Everyday Food Fast? something like that). They have easy recipes, with ingredients that you can find easily (often I already have everything that the recipes call for). [ Reply | More ]

He also still has a pacifier, which I've limited to naps and bedtime. He seems ready for potty training, but I need to get him out of our bed 1st - such a bad habit we started. Any BTDT? How did you break these habits?? 15 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

excellent advice. I was getting no sleep at all because ds at 2 would sometimes wake up for hours in the middle of the night and I thought I should not bring him back to bed with me. I finally started doing that, he would fall asleep immediately. When he gave up his nap at 2.9, he started sleeping through the night in his own bed and rarely askes to come to mine. [ Reply | More ]

What do you really want to do? If you don't mind him in bed w/ you then I wouldn't stress. But if you prefer it otherwise just walk him back to his bed each time--no talking or making it interesting in any way. If you want to get rid of the paci at some point, just do the paci fairy. And I don't think the potty training & bed thing are related at all. [ Reply | More ]

I applied for older grades, too....you will need two tests..one will be a more "standardized" group reading test and these are not offered in the summer. My guess is they have not yet set the dates for these tests (they are typically in October). And it is much easier to get a date for older kids . Just wait until August. Good Luck.
