Check the library web site NYPL.org; Karma Kids Yoga; train to Children's Museum of the Arts; that playspace on Perry Street might have drop-in. Sometimes you can ask for a trial class at music places. [ Reply | More ]

Yes we are everywhere we natives but even if she were not from here, why would you discuss schools with anyone at all? You could always be in danger of offending them. We have two in schools already and we never discuss schools with anyone. Hope you get in where you want because that MM connection might look pretty good to you this spring [ Reply | More ]

For private -you are able to tour many schools in the spring but once the "season" (sept 1) begins you must apply to tour. Publics do tours in the fall call them up and ask when you can sign up. [ Reply | More ]

That's not correct. There are a number of schools that allow you to tour in the fall without first submitting an application (e.g., Town, Friends, St. Ann's, Riverdale, etc.). You should check their websites. I called the first week of Sept. and scheduled tours at the schools that didn't require an application to tour. You do go into classrooms while class is in progress. I know that UNIS, Ethical, Dalton and a few other schools had tours in the spring, but not sure if they do tours in the fall without requiring an application. [ Reply | More ]

Almost all grow out of anemia, unless it's due to some underlying problem. For instance, I always show as borderline anemic since I have beta thalassemia (I'm a carrier for some blood disorder). But I really wouldn't worry about that. [ Reply | More ]

My 2.7yo does but he has friends that don't. When I started my son in full separation classes in prep for preschool the teachers got me to sit in the classroom but not interact with ds. If he came over to me I just had to say I'm not playing. It took about 4 sessions before I could leave him. I have seen kids who are hysterical on separation but eventually they all get used to it and enjoy it. Your dc will be fine in preschool and may learn there to be more indep. GL [ Reply | More ]
