ack totally put my foot in my mouth - was speaking to my (new) boss about schools and how we didn't like MM last fall, etc etc - turns out, not only did she go there, but she turned down a spot in hunter middle school to stay there. and i feel so dumb now, I didn't even know she was from NY. Yes we are everywhere we natives but even if she were not from here, why would you discuss schools with anyone at all? You could always be in danger of offending them.
