both dh and I wear shorts. dh works in an incredibly casual office, so wears shorts, tevas and a polo shirt. we dress nicely, stylish. but comfort is key in the heat. i tend to prefer skirts and dresses in the summer over shorts though [ Reply | More ]

Prepare breakfast in advance, french toast bake or egg & sausauge bake that you can prepare the night before. Have the kids make pizzas -have dough, sauce (easy from a jar) toppings. It'll occupy them & feed them. Lots of movies. [ Reply | More ]

Kids need and understand discipline at every age. It depends on the type of discipline. Saying no and removing him from the situation is good. Also explain why and offer other things for him to do. I know you think he won't understand but keep explaining and saying no. They understand a whole lot more than we might think [ Reply | More ]

Example, what do I do when he starts screaming for no reason except that he's pissed off or bored in the middle of the supermarket? Just deal with it or get out of there, or can I actually influence him at this point? [ Reply | More ]

Exactly. Hitting him and telling him not to hit others is very confusing to a child at that age. If you're in the supermarket give him different groceries to hold. Go at a time when he is well fed and not too tired so he won't be so cranky. Offer snacks if he'll take them. Distract him by pointing to all the different things in the store. I used to sing songs and talk to my daughter about things I was buying. This seemed to really distract her. [ Reply | More ]

try to remember not to be angry at him. his just trying to find his way. this doesn't mean that you should let him do whatever he want because you don't want him to be a brat that's not a nice way to be. Just use gentle distractions and see what works every kid is different. [ Reply | More ]

This school offers alot more than that. The kids her age can write they're letters, are learning French, math, science and Bible. It's well worth the money. I'd recommend not doing it, that seems harsh, but my ex-dh and I went to several counselors and they all seemed like quacks. But Good Luck to you. We wasted a lot of time and money. If you are both 100% comitted to making the marriage work, then try, but if one of you is on the fence or already knows they don't want to be there it is a waste. [ Reply | More ]

Then try it, I wouldn't recommend the few we went to because they really were quacks...for example my ex dh, would call the cops when we fought, although he was the violent one, I am in Law Enforcement so he knew it would get me in trouble (could have gotten me fired), instead of the therapist telling him not to do that, she'd say to me that I was completely capable of getting a different job if I got fired.
