ds told me he is too afraid to talk at school. His teacher says he never talks or engages with the other children. He told me when he talks he has to sit in a chair. I don't want to believe everything my 3 yo says but do you think he could be getting punished for talking? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

maybe he saw someone else getting a time-out for misbehaving and thought it was for talking? I also have a 3 yo, who says with heartfelt emotion that she had a wonderful day playing with Winnie the Pooh at preschool, and the teacher took them all up in a plane. Ask the teacher what she would suggest to bring him out of his shell a little. [ Reply | More ]

I thought the same thing about time-out but the teacher seems really negative about him and I see a lot of kids in time-out when I pick-up a little early. I thinking I need a new school. The teacher thinks he has sensory issues even though I've never seen any signs [ Reply | More ]

Teachers do have "favorites" and "scapegoats" your child unfortunately might be the later. You should google "signs of a bad daycare" see if he has the symptoms and signs. Sounds to me like you might try something newer. [ Reply | More ]

I think sometimes kids and teachers just don't match. No one understands your child as well as you do, go with your gut feeling. [ Reply | More ]

the just have their favorites that they want to love and adore and then there are others that get on their nerves and they feel like they can't deal with them. Every person has a button that can get pushed in the wrong way...your kid probably didn't do anything, just maybe reminds her of someone she doesn't like, or reminds her subconsciously of herself.
