Its ok. I didn't like my dd when she was only a few months and liked my ds more. Now that my dd is older and my ds is an argumentative pre-teen I'm not liking his so much. I'm sure it will change back and forth. I do know I love them both but sometimes it is easier to like 1 more than the other depending on what's going on. [ Reply | More

In aswer to your actual question: #1 (17-y-o, entering 12th grade in the fall) is going on an Outward Bound-like trip for teens. Some of his friends are working (mostly as camp counselors or babysitters, although a few have office jobs or internships). It's 2 long weeks! We usually go away for one of those weeks...and DS sits around and makes me crazy during the other week (which, naturally, is my busiest time of the year at work!). There's always a ton of laundry b/c the camp bags have been packed/shipped. I tell DS to go buy toiletries and he says that he doesn't care and asks me to go instead -- and then he complains about everything that I get.
