[ - ] just happy, so I am reporting to UB...my hubby and I had great TTC sex last night even though he is super stressed at work and it was very late by the time he got home. he really pulled it together and made it all happen. Not only did we not end up fighting (typical during these stressful TTC times) but we really enjoyed ourselves and each other. I hope this is the time. It would be so nice to have this happy memory attached to actually being successful. 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

You really need a "team". Your team is a good Developmental Ped and any therapists you may be using. The Dev Ped will give you reports which will suggest therapies needed and frequency. Share these with the DOE. When people say "fight" it means that you need to know your rights. The DOE will often give you minimal services 2 or 3 x30 minute sessions when you can actually get 60 min sessions. Often if there is a dx from a Dev. Ped you will be able to get the max about of services. GL [ Reply | More ]

Most of us are fighting by placing our kids in SN schools and to do this we hire lawyers; our lawyers give good advice on getting other services too. You also, as pp says, learn and exercise your rights, and have a report from a neuropsych or dev ped that supplies ammunition. [ Reply | More ]

How are you defining 2nd grade level? Can you give some examples of books he's reading already that are at the right level? I ask only because in the past I've found the UBers have a distorted sense of books' grade levels. For example, the Magic Tree House series is mostly 2nd grade reading level, but many people here insist they're K reading level books because they've known a number of dc who read them in K.
