[ - ] Allay my fears, please. 4 yo DD has been intermittently complaining for a week or two that one spot on her head hurts. Not like holding her head crying hurts, but sort of this is bugging me hurts. When we ask if it's inside or outside, she says outside, but we can't find a bump or a rash or anything. I'm a freak admittedly, but now I'm convinced she has a brain tumor. I have a call in to a neurologist to get a referral for an MRI, but I'm so freaked about it. Tell me I'm crazy, please. 7 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

We're kind of between peds (we're really unhappy with our current one) and -- admittedly, I'm not a doctor, but -- what are they going to do? There is nothing to see. I just want to make sure everything is okay in terms of something awful. [ Reply | More ]

I'm a firm believer in not caring if I appear like a crazy hypochondriacal mom. I'd rather pay the money, get told I'm a hysteric, and be calm than not go at all. So good for you for making the MRI appointment. That said, yeah, it is almost certainly nothing. Insect bite, bruise, you know the list. [ Reply | More ]

you go right to brain tumor from that? No neurological symptoms? No odd behaviors? The pain is on the outside? You are not just crazy, you are insane and so totally anxious and over-reactive your DD has probably concocted this to see what kind of reaction you'll have. Sheesh. [ Reply | More ]

Well, I should add that she has had a history of seizures in the past, but hasn't had one for a good year now. She had one EEG done that read normal when she had her first seizure, and they decided that her seizures were more likely severe "breathing spells" so we let it go. But as you can see, we do have a history of scary head stuff for her. Your response was really harsh and if you knew me, you'd know how wrong you are. We rarely call the doctor for anything. Brain problems are scary sh*t, though. [ Reply | More ]

I don't think you are crazy/insane/overly anxious. That was a rude response above. Sorry you are scared. I'm sure it's fine, but do yourself a favor and get it checked [ Reply | More ]

mine always did at 3 weeks. Stick with it 5 more days and it should be better. :-) Is it sore just at latch on, or during the whole nursing session? Sore between nursings? The "holy hell ouch" at latch on will disappear. If it hurts while db is nursing, you have to check the latch. GL! [ Reply | More ]

I think with the way they are sorting the posts the board is just not working...people are fustrated and leaving some for good. the posts are all out of order. if you look at the time stamp under options you can see that the original post may have gone up hours ago but people are still repling or if no one replies right away your post goes no where and no one ever replies. it is really lame. Ah, maybe it was the tester. I don't know, it's uspetting. It talked about her not paying attention, not being motivated, easily fatigued, there was more. Even said negative things about subtests with 99 which makes no sense. It was all about behavior, I guess. [ Reply | More ]

Sounds to me like the tester might have been trying to indicate that your child could have done even better but was tired/distracted. Perhaps not as bad as you're reading it to be. [ Reply | More ]
