[ - ] My nanny is really irritating and we've had some issues that have caused to lose trust in her. So why do I still feel guilty firing her? She really needs the job financially, but she doesn't seem to like me either. 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

[ - ] More feeding questions. I put food on dbs(16m) tray. I try to give a variety, like last night she has a little of spinach, peas, sweet potato, and b-nut squash. In reality, she only ate a few pieces of each, so I supplement by spooning a jar of baby food and baby food fruit into her mouth. does anyone else do this? I worry w/out this step she does not get enough to eat. 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

kids eat when they are hungry. I find that my dc likes less food on plate or tray, less overwhelming. also, my dc loves to eat using fork/spoon. even if I have to put food onto utensil myself, dc tends to eat more that way. your dc won't starve, don't worry. [ Reply | More ]

You should check out Long Island City. It's directly across the east river from midtown-east/low UES. Rents are way cheaper than Manhattan, but lots of nice new buildings. Also, if you are willing to live in a walk up building, you can probably find something reasonable on the UES, but closer to the East River/York Ave than, say, Park Ave. [ Reply | More ]

first of all, in NYC, only the rich live in 3 bedroom apartments. Serious, it's not a MUST in NYC. I know families with higher incomes than yours with 3 kids in a 2 bedroom. Second, on that income, you can't afford more than 3K month in rent. You will need to be in Queens definately. The parts of brooklyn you could afford would be well over an hour from your husband's work. My best suggestion is Roosevelt Island. very close to your husband's work, much more space for the money than anything else close to where he works, and there are several buildings there reserved for middle class families. np For $3500 or less? Landlords aren't so desperate that they need to take people who aren't financially qualified. If she wants a 4k apt, she's going to need a relative with a very high income to cosign the lease. [ Reply | More ]

girlfriend, sit down and bf your baby wherever you damn well please and if someone doesn't like it THEY can go sit in a GAP dressing room until you're finished. Good god. This is 2008! I can't get over how backward NYC is with regard to breastfeeding! [ Reply | More ]

I have nursed in Central Park with a nursing cover and FAO Schwartz has a chair in bathroom that is separate to the toilet area where you can nurse (and lock the door if you want to). Manhattan is very short on god places to nurse. I'm from London and many large stores have parent rooms with clean and pleasant places to nurse. I miss that! [ Reply | More ]

Saks is another option on the 4th floor. I used to drop in there. Huge long couch completely apart from the toilet areas. And drinking fountain with cups. BFing makes me HUGELY thirsty. Also, try a quiet corner of the park with a BFing parka or cover. If it's nice out. You can watch the water or birds or animals while you sit. [ Reply | More ]

i take about 150 mg and it really does take the edge off. i think it started working faster than the others i tried -- maybe a couple of weeks. it makes you a little weird feeling at first, so give it a little time.. [ Reply | More ]

know what you mean. but if she feels bad about you being pregnant, not such a good friend. i mean, if you're really friends, then shouldn't you be able to talk about such important stuff? maybe you should just ask her if talking about it makes her uncomfortable. [ Reply | More ]
