[ - ] My bil died 3 years ago leaving behind a young widow (2 and 5 years old). Now, my sil is engaged to someone else and is moving to another state. Well, our inlaws have become totally obsessed with her and the kids. They call her all the time, want to know every move she is making, literally, and wants to know when they can see the kids, so on and so on. That's understandable however, in this obsession with her and those grandkids they have seem to have forgotten about their other grandkids and other dils and sils. Everytime we are around them all they talk about is her and the kids, etc. What do I do? It's very sad but it's also not nice to forget about everyone else that's around. 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

There's a great, non-expensive, organic product to get rid of odors like this - BAC -OUT that's made by Bio-Kleen and Fairway, WHole Foods sells it. You spray it on the item, wait 20 minutes, then wash as usual with soap. I use it for all stuff that's been in storage and even those things that got a bit mildewy from the beach. Works great. yes - i work and have always had this fantasy of then having some time to myself at lunch to go get a manicure, etc. Well, because I need to be home at a certain time to relive the babysitter (I own my own business so it is easier for me to be home than dh) - I have to work straight through the day, never go to lunch and then am always behind on the weekends. I have tried taking fridays off which then usually means trying to run errands with one or both dcs in tow...I wouldn't trade it but I no longer harbor any illusions about it giving me a lot of spare time. [ - ] I sometimes feel like my little sister (30) is my 2nd child and she is driving me insane. She went to rehab, is sober for almost a year, our parents bought her expensive, big david yurman ring which she lost and i found at my apartment. i told her i found it, and that in a joking (but i meant it tone) that she doesn't deserve this ring (3rd time she lost it). ends up, she didnt tell anyone she lost it, and lied and bought a new one so no one would know. I couldnt believe it. then today, i get this long, nasty email from her, "who are you go tell me i don't deserve this ring. i don't need to hear this from you. blah, blah" she is driving me insane, and sometimes i just get exhausted from her and her silly dramas. 4 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Then end the drama. Become emotionally detached from her. Even if she is not as bad as you may think she's not good for you. If your parents want to continue to support her that's their business. Meanwhile be proud of yourself that you are responsible and be a good role model for your kids. Don't do anything beyond the ordinary for her and slowly detach yourself from her emotional control. Let it all roll off your back and don't let yourself get dragged in. Breathe, count to ten, laugh. Good luck BTDT - it was hard at first but now everyone knows I won't engage in their time wasting dramas. [ Reply | More ]

But I have noticed a lot of people belly-aching about the weather, so I asked. I'm put out more by the tenor of the responses here, like it was rude of me to even ask on UB as I make the decision. Jeesh. The party is tomorrow. No decisions have been made. Everyone can relax. And none of you are invited anyway so you can doubly relax. You will not be made to eat ice cream in my garden. Christ.
