try country vistas in manheim, pa (pennsylvania dutch area.) it is immaculate. it caters to families. it is a farmette- there are chickens, goats, a pony. the kids get to feed the animals and collect eggs. some nights they have had a bonfire and everyone gets to roast smores. you can have a lovely breakfast and the kids can eat and then run off to the living room and you can see them from the table. the family has 4 sons who interact with the visitors. red for a dining room is traditional (if that is your style). Limey-citrusy greens make a great kitchen accent (wales or pear green from B Moore). Are all kids developmentally ready that early? I am the Hunter parent who posted the query below about DOE programs. I know the Hunter principal often says that reading is a developmental skill that comes with maturity and that it should not be pushed too early. He also says that while many gifted kids read early that reading early is not a sign of giftedness and plenty of gifted kids read later. It is interesting--I was a very early reader (2.5) but both of my kids, while EG and PG by SB scale, would be considered average to even late readers. [ Reply | More ]
