We just moved into a new home and I'm trying to make it cozy. I cringe at the thought of having to paint all of the walls, so I'm considering accent walls throughout the house. What colors would make you feel at home? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Go to a paint store and hire a consultant for $100 to give you a whole-house color palette. Then do one room at a time as time/budget permit. [ Reply | More ]

That is a really good idea. Any particular store where you've hired someone from? [ Reply | More ]

red for a dining room is traditional (if that is your style). Limey-citrusy greens make a great kitchen accent (wales or pear green from B Moore). I think one, maybe two accent walls are fine, but if you do them every wher it will look silly. Another idea is a mocha color for a living room (or a light/ taupe mocha) [ Reply | More ]

Our condo is really modern, but we have a light khaki color on opposite walls and the ceiling with white walls on either side in our living room and it really warms up the the concrete and glass. It feels cozy. [ Reply | More ]
