you can take the LIRR to Montauk. the only place i can think of off the top of my head, where i've stayed in the past, is the East Deck Motel (eastedeckmotel.com), 1 mile north of Montauk. you'd need to take a taxi or rent a car out there. (do you drive?) it's affordable, right on the beach, and the rooms have kitchenettes, which is good w/ dc. they also have a pool. ... sorry i can't think of any other place just off the top of my head. if i were needing to just escape, i think this is where i'd go. it's not fancy...and maybe you'd be better off at a place in town, but i'm don't know of any other hotel to recommend. hope this helps a little. Fire Island. I like it because once you get there you won't need a car, and can take the LIRR to a cab to a ferry. You might not be able to get a hotel for the weekend, but worth a try. [ Reply | More ]

If you are stillhere: You take the New jersey Coast line from Penn Station and switch at Long Branch. (The trains meet/wait for one another) Ther is an ocasional express form Newark, via Hoboken first. If you call Spring Lake Inn and they have no spaces, they will have other recs. [ Reply | More ]

op-This is ridiculous. I came here to discuss fertility treatments because we have been struggling going through adoption. We came close once, but in the end the mother kept the child. We can't keep going through the pain of coming so close and losing the child. We are actively pursuing fertility and adoption; however, I am not as familiar with fertility - which at the moment seems like more of a guarantee than adoption. [ Reply | More ]

if this couple can afford 6 biological children and/or fertility treatments to get #6, then they can damn well afford the adoption fees. There are millions of babies who needs parents, and I think it's arrogant to want to have a baby together just to somehow validate your marriage. It's pathetic. And you losers have already each failed a marriage so how do you know this one, with such a huge age gap, is going to work out? How fair is that on any of your kids? [ Reply | More ]

How DARE you insinuate I am not taking care of any of my children. I absolutely adore my kids and I would do anything for them. They did not go through hell because my ex and I divorced - it was very amicable and our relationship is much better because of it. You do not know the details of our divorce - and if you need to know, my dh has full custody of his two children. We are excellent parents. Our kids are happy and we have been together for quite some time now and we know this is until death do us part. We are not having a child to validate our marriage, we are having a child to complete our family. [ Reply | More ]
