I have ordered a couple of times from diapers.com. It's definitely worth it for the first time because you get $10 off $50 purchase (referral coupon code: GLMA5872) and it's free shipping. Most of the times, I have received the items the next day. It's great for big items like boxes of diapers which are hard to carry from the store when you don't have a car. [ Reply | More ]

We have two children (grade 3 and grade 5) in the Rudolf Steiner School in New York. We started in kindergarten and have been very happy with both children's experiences. We find the education to be academic along with being artistic (music, drawing and painting). The teachings in each grade are focused on the child-development of that age. My husband and I appreciated finding a school that loved childhood, and treated it as an important part of life instead of drilling academics immediately. Now with a fifth grader, we see a balanced child who is able to call on her intellect and enjoying it. [ Reply | More ]

We followed that guideline w/ DS and it was probably for the best--very timid and slow to transition. He is 6 this summer and learning how to swim. It's going very, very quickly and he's loving it. It would not have gone as well even just last summer. However, we went ahead and put DD (2.5) in lessons and she's excelling. It's like she was born to swim. But the instructor said she is not the norm and she tells most parents to wait until around age 3. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Decided to send my dd to chelsea piers for preschool because I think she will have a lot of fun. Just found out a friend is sending her similarly aged son to one of the top preschools (she'd kept this quiet), one I would never bother trying for because I don't have those kind of connections and I firmly don't believe they evaluate 2.6yo solely on their abilities. Now I wonder that by not, "playing the game" and even trying for the big schools, I've some how put my daughter at a disadvantage later in life. Please tell me this is all ridiculous. My dd is fun, bright, happy and very much loved. It doesn't matter where she goes to preschool, right? 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]
