[ - ] I know that this question gets asked exhaustively, but I have a 2.5 yo and a newborn and need a double stroller. Should I just get a boogy board attachment, a joovy sit and stroll, a phil and ted or a double jogging stroller. I live in the burbs and drive a ton. Seems as if 2.5 yo is almost finished with strollers anyway. People just tell me it's better for keeping them under control when you're walking places. 12 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I thought about that, but after a while won't that kill my back? Also, when the baby is sleeping in the car seat, I though that it's easier to move the whole seat then wake the baby up to transfer to a sling. What do you think? [ Reply | More ]

If you are going to get a stroller, I would recommend the baby jogger city mini (not a jogger actually, but a great stroller, esp for the car). otherwise i would get a sit and stroll. but, yeah, at 2.5, you may not need one. i would probably just use a carrier for the newborn for a few months and make do with one stroller. i hated the buggy board-it isn't really user friendly for a lot of walking. it depends on how much time you spend walking. we got the phil and teds, which I love. but it is kind of a pita to fold at times. combis make ltwt doubles which are nice [ Reply | More ]

I have both a joovy and a double jogger. The jogger is too big for most errands, etc, but it's great for jogging, walks, etc. I love the joovy for shorter trips or for getting to the park from the car, going to the zoo (where he wants to get up close, and then catch a ride), etc. I recommend both. I used the bjorn for when db was up to about 3 mos. Now I definately need both strollers. [ Reply | More ]

this is just my opinion. i think a double stroller is a must have b/c the time that you are going to need it, you're really going to need it. (bear in mind that my kids are about 18mo apart). i heard the sit and stroll is really heavy. i went with an inexpensive double and i've been very happy. [ Reply | More ]

Get a combi snap n' go thing. I like the Combi much better because the carseat snaps in place. You will use it nonstop in the burbs. Your toddler can walk. Buggy boards do attach to the combi (you have to kind of jerry-rig them). Then when the baby reaches 6 months or so, get a double stroller. By then you'll know what you want. Until that point, it's sooo much easier to do the carseat thing. Believe me. Just did it. [ Reply | More ]

- yes, my dd was 2.5yo. i attached a buggy board to the combi. i also bought a phil & ted's double and i used it 2 times in the first 6 months. my 2.5yo had no problem sticking with me running errands and loved the buggy board. then when the baby reached 6 months i brought out the double and it's been excellent. op: yes this was my point t dh. I was upset about the water and the fact that he would not let me wash out the soap, but I was not out of control or yelling in anger. My sh comes running in and starts freaking out, trying to take over, and I am like, look, we are fine,, please let me finish handling the situation, and dh would not leave and kept escalating it. It was ugly and I am really upset with him for making a mountain out of a molehill. Ds and I have these battles all the time during the week when dh is at work, and we work them out just fine. Last night he woke up at 2:30am asking for water & I told him that he needs to pee first which he did so he woke up relatively dry. But do I wake him up every night??? Or just leave him be and wash sheets every night for now? THANK YOU! 14 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

This is awful but I see a few things at work here: 1) the child should never have been placed in that "least restrictive" setting - clearly was not working out for him particularly because his teacher has no clue how to educate or remediate him so bottom line is that the local EI failed him. This is an outrage for all involved and I feel so terribly sad for the little boy. [ Reply | More ]

such a disgusting situation, but I want to point out that "not having problems at preschool" isn't really relevant here. preschool is such an entirely different atmosphere than K. K requires focus. To complicate this, he is *just* being dx'd, so parents didn't know that he would need a different environment. The teacher's actions are repulsive, though, no matter what. [ Reply | More ]
