i think there are two different terms. an orange in a basket of apples will stand out. the football player was a college standout. [ Reply | More ]

Yes but don't try & keep them warm for several hours (bacteria growing). Just cook them completely & heat them up again in 350 degree oven when ready (haven't you ever gotten anything from Fresh Direct!) [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Can I just say: I don't get maternity dresses made to be worn braless (e.g., with tiny, thin straps). I'm pretty small on top, but with each pregnancy, I've been huge by week 12, and feel really uncomfortable without a bra. I don't get it! 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I hear you! I also didn't get why many maternity tops don't seem to allow for the expanding chest since that is the first thing to grow. [ Reply | More ]

Not a question of days but of trust. If she is sick, she is sick, you don't want her around your kids. OTH, if you think she is making it up, you have bigger problems. [ Reply | More ]

You are prob just be crazy to start a fight - not able to be sick because you are caring for a child? I guess I forfitted my right to chicken soup with my first db! As the one hiring this nanny it is your responsiblity to have a back up plan in case she can't make it into work. Depending on her to "just show up" is you own idiocy [ Reply | More ]

look, I'm a doctor, and I have no choice but to show up. The work needs to get done, you know? That's just the nature of some jobs. And many people with nannies work, there isn't always a back-up plan. [ Reply | More ]

np: You are insane. I would never want my doctor to show up with a flu, the stomach bug or any serious sickness. What kind of care would I get? A cold is one thing, but if someone is sick I'd much prefer them to call in sick. [ Reply | More ]

Anyone without a back up childcare plan is a certified idiot. Or else happy to just not go into work when their nanny doesn't/can't show up. There are plenty of reasons including subway/train malfunctions, or personal crisis that cause a person to miss work. Personally I would never want a doctor with a full blown case of the flu operating on me!! [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Organized moms: Trying to organize things a little and wondering if it's weird to hang jewelry in a box with hooks in it in the bathroom where it's visible. We do have a second bathroom that's more the guest bathroom, but it doesn't mean once in a while others would use this one. Weird to have jewelry open like that? [ - ] Okay, is there any place in Soho (or nearby) to buy maternity clothes, other than Cadeau (which is freakishly expensive). I work full time, at a crazy stressful job, and can't venture that far at lunch. Hoping there's something else nearby, where I can at least pick up a few things to tide me over. 12 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Eh--if you're that pressed for time, order online. Gap makes decent enough stuff (that's easy to return if it doesn't fit) [ Reply | More ]

op: Yeh, I like their stuff -- wore much of it with #1 (was prg in an entirely different season, so have nothing to wear). But it's actually a pain for me to return stuff -- there's no Gap nearby (closest is at Astor Place) -- so I'm trying to avoid the hassle, just go for an hour, try a few things on, grab a couple pairs of pants and a dress or two. op: That's the problem: I'm working for the next two weekends, then going away the following weekend (and actually have to get dressed up, twice, on that weekend away); so I somehow have to find an hour or two, escape from the office, and grab a few things. Am just realizing maybe I should just take the train a few stops to Macy's, where I can enlist the help of salespeople (and Gap is across the street). [ Reply | More ]

Yes. (Though I haven't been since 1st prg, three years ago; and it occurs to me that maybe they have stuff on sale. But, then, it seemed like a pair of pants was $300, etc., which is more than I want to spend.) [ Reply | More ]
