Coney Island for sure, which is fine but crowded. Otherwise, go on the LIRR website and they usually have a section about day trips to the beach. Whatever you do, start early early so you don't have to travel w/ the masses b/c even the trains are crowded on weekends late morning. [ Reply | More ]

I am excited about where DC is headed next year, and I have a baby at home who hasn't even started preschool yet - but I find myself feeling very depressed about the older one "graduating" from this phase of her life. I get like this with all transitions, I think, but it seems a bit strange to be so blue about the end of the nursery years. 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

try to think on the bright side: you know where your DC is headed next year. my dd is on 5 wait-lists and we're waiting for lottery results to hear if she's gotten into the public school we like in district 1. you're lucky to not be in this kind of limbo.
